FAQ's
& useful information
When you book an Act through Streetentertainers both you and the Act will be asked to sign a simple contract which clearly states the performance dates, performance times and the name and type of act you have engaged. Please read our contract terms & conditions which include straightforward cancellation clauses.
- Where are you based? We are based in Herefordshire but cover the whole of the UK - our clients range from blue chip corporate companies to local authorities and schools, event companies to village and country fairs and festivals and private individuals. We have many years experience in providing quality entertainment for events of all sizes throughout the UK.
-
What are your payment terms ? We usually ask you for a deposit when you book the act and the balance payment in full 3 weeks prior to the event - all deposits, advance payments and artists fee's payed to Streetentertainers are held in a dedicated Client's Account until the booking is completed.
-
Should I book fixed shows, walkabout or a mix? How large an area is your event covering and for what length of time? Some Acts will work through the day with breaks whilst others do a fixed number of shows or sets varying in length from 20 to 45 minutes. You may wish to work to a timetable or go for a more free and easy approach
-
Where will the Act perform? Streetentertainers will let you know if an Act has specific technical requirements but its worth thinking about the performance space. Our Acts are used to performing in unusual places but it helps to have a reasonable sized performance area for street shows and if a big crowd gathers to watch you don't want blocked shop entrances or the entire pedestrian flow through restricted.
-
What else will the Acts need? If you are able to provide parking space near to the event this is always helpful and make sure someone is there when the entertainers arrive to show them the performance area and give them any last minute instructions. Some Acts will need a room/space for changing, applying makeup and leaving props between performances if this is the case Streetentertainers will let you know when you book. Our Acts are usually self sufficient and able to perform without specific changing facilities or a 'Green Room' but will be grateful if one is available. If you are booking acts for an outdoor event in the colder winter months, somewhere to warm up will be much appreciated.
-
Fire Acts such as fire breathing, eating or juggling if you are thinking of booking a fire act do check with the management of the venue first. All our Acts have full public liability insurance and as professionals are very aware of health & safety. Be aware that at outdoor events weather conditions particularly strong wind may make some fire acts both impractical and dangerous for the performer and audience alike. Glow juggling is a great alternative to fire and extremely visual, it can be performed inside or outside without risk. Please remember that Fire Breathing cannot be performed non-stop, fire artists will always breath, eat or blow fire as part of a wider performance.
