Organ Grinders

and Mechanical Music

Our traditional organ grinders or barrel organists play old fashioned street organs and buskers organs often called crank organs or hurdy gurdys which had their heyday in the victorian period. These instruments are usually mounted on decorative barrel organ trolleys which can be moved around an event if needed. They play a mix of popular tunes, classical pieces and folk music and are particularly popular at historical themed events especially victorian, dickensian and edwardian events and to add some seasonal spirit at Christmas events when the barrel organist will play carols and xmas music.

We have quite a range of barrel organs and music and are often asked to play at Markets and Fairs to add some authentic atmosphere. Our organ grinders are happy to dress in suitable themed costumes and be accompanied by their traditional monkey (puppet).
